I am looking for a good picture editing program for the computer?

I am looking for a program kinda like photoshop, but not as good as photo shop. I mean I am starting photography on a very low budget. I would like a program on my comp0uter that is under 100 bucks. Photo shop is like 400! I would appreciate any programs with some prices. Thanks!

paint shop

The GIMP is completely free and downloadable.

Then there is Sumo Paint which is free and is on your web browser.
Honestly I prefer Sumo Paint it has much more tools and has all of Adobes Photoshop tools.. Then again it is more complicated.

I would go with Adobe Photoshop Elements, at worst it should cost about $80 and it is much like Photoshop and does most of what Photoshop does.

Below are two links, the first to Adobe's site to a page that should provide information and options to buy. The 2nd link will go to an Amazon page listing options to buy (Mac or Windows, also various versions and vendors). Also at Amazon you can read customer reviews to find out more.

By using Elements, you will be more comfortable using Photoshop, in case you later you make that move or ever end up using it someone's else computer.

The latest version is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.

Hope this helps.
