Should i get this camera? Is this camera worth it?

I've been saving up for a Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1. It's a 10.2 megapixel camera, 4x optical zoom, handheld twilight, sweep panorama, 14.1 mm ultra slim camera body (including lens cover) and a 3" inch LCD touchscreen. It seems like a good camera, but I want to know what others think. It costs 550 dollars.

It's $350+ shipping at Amazon.com

For a point and shoot, I'd suggest Canon. But there's nothing wrong about Sony either. (Of course, a comparable Canon is about $250! And red!

$550 for the TX1? That sounds like an Aussie price. If it is, you can buy them cheaper than that online. For example...from camerastore.com.au you can buy them for $459 (plus extra for shipping).

p.s. Sony have recently released an update to the TX1...the TX7, which has improvements over the TX1 including Full HD video, etc. but it will obviously cost more.

The crappy thing about the TX1 is it ONLY uses Memory Stick. The newer Sony models can now also use SDHC memory cards.

If you're not in Oz, then disregard what I said above.

That is a great camera but at it's price, it is possible to get a more equipped dSLR.
