i'm looking into buying a camera , i wanted to know what the best is under 400$

I would recommend Panasonic DMC-LX3K 10.1MP with 2.5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom.
Classic SLR-like manual operations include selectable AF spot/multi AF area, customization button, aperture, shutter, program and full manual modes
The image quality is certainly and noticeably better than the ulracompact cameras, very responsive and the autofocus is fast and seems accurate.
