What camera quality setting is better?

I have an ALBA SL1230 12.0MP Digital Camera, it's a pretty good piece of tech, but I've got one question. What quality setting is better: 12 mega pixels (4000x3000) or HD (1920x1080)?

I don't print the photo's just view them on the computer screen or TV so there's no issue about if I need to print them...
