Problem with "Canon Powershot SX10 IS" video?

I have a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS and whenever I take a video it looks like it is taking it at about 10 to 12 frames per second. It looks like stop motion. The pictures are fine but the video is not very great. As a side note I do have a computer that is about 5 years old could that also be the issue? My computer plays ALL other video fine I can play DVDs and watch Youtube fine the only thing that I have issues with is from the video that comes off the camera.
Any suggestions?

try plaing the video from the camera. If the video looks fine in the camera, then you're having a problem with your computer displaying the video file.
If the video is choppy in the camera, then the camera isn't recording the video correctly.

I think the problem will be with your computer. The video format is probably causing your computer to stutter the display. You may be able to use a video editing program, such as Microsoft Movie Maker to convert the video into a different format, which your computer can handle better.

Go to: .u.s.a.canon.com . Click on the Powershot cameras, then SX10 IS, then support & service tab.
and pose your question to Canon direct. You may in fact have a defect or maybe the "new" model 'cures' this situation.

At one point (August 09) I was about to purchase a Canon SX10. I read on the internet of the "new" model coming out, the Canon SX20. I CALLED CANON direct and asked. Canon told me that the SX 20 was more advanced "video"-wise.

You should call them and find out for yourself and specially your experience with the SX10 IS.
