What does SDHC stand for? :)?

Hi,
I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 and was having trouble finding the right SD memory card for it. What does SDHC stand for when looking for memory cards? And is a SDHC needed in the Panasoic Lumix TZ7? I did purchase a 2GB regular SD memory card (not SDHC) and it works perfectly fine in my camera. I was just wondering if a SDHC memory card would make any kind of difference.
Thanks!!!! :)

Secure Digital High Capacity - it just allows for more memory on the card, like 32 GB. They are faster than the older SD cards.

Secure Digital High Capacity.

SDHC is NOT needed in your camera. Its only benefit is that it has larger capacities than regular SD cards, therefore the only difference you'd notice is you would potentially lose 2, 4 or 8 times as much data when it messed up.

Stick with the 2GB cards, they're dirt cheap, you can still fit loads of images on and they work perfectly well.

If you do buy SDHC, then you also need to have a compatible reader in your computer or attached to your computer. If your card reader is too old, then you have to rely on the camera USB connection to get your images - and that's just plain cumbersome.

Edit: SD cards are not intrinsically slower than SDHC. Buy class 6 and both perform the same. HC versions, however, can go to class 10 but I suspect they're only worth buying for HD camcorders.
