question about my digital camera?

I have been appointed the camera-woman for a certain occasion for my sister's wedding. I'm planning to use our Digital Camera and have already uploaded all the old pictures from it to the computer and then deleted them on the camera so I have more memory on the 1 GB card available for the event tomorrow. However, even though I've deleted all the pictures from the memory, the camera still says that only 50% of the memory card is available for storing pictures. I keep going back to the memory to see if I can access any more photos and delete them..but the memory says there are no more photos. What is taking up the other 50% of the memory card then?

All as you need to do is to reformat the memory card in the camera.
This will erase all date and leave the card with the maximum space.

If its a big event might be worth getting a second card so you can carry on snapping if you manage to fill the first.

try formatting your memory card and see if the indicated full capacity becomes available. if still no, i guess the memory card have an internal problem

Reformat as suggested. But definitely get at least one more card (they aren't expensive these days) and set your camera at the best quality photo setting just in case large enlargements are required - you never know with wedding photos. Best quality does of course use more of the card's memory for each photo.

Oh, and don't forget spare fully charged battreies.

Enjoy your day and don't be shy of taking informal as well as formal photos; they are often the most memorable (and unique).
