What's an inexpensive compact camera?

I'm looking for a small camera that would fit into my pocket, that takes good pictures, and has decent video quality with sound,8-12 mega pixels would be nice, and an optical of 3x or greater, and decent battery life, hopefully under 150$ If not a specific model, some company suggestions would be nice. Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're from the UK in stores such as Curry's and comet they're having big sales, i bought a nice camera which was £230, but was reduced down to £99 i am not too sure on the spec. of my camera but its a nice piece of equipment :)
